Google Maps rank tracking for local businesses
Most rank checkers give you one number. RankMapp checks dozens of real points across your area — so you can see the streets where customers cannot find you, and the competitors, reviews, citations and website faults behind it.

Click any pin for the full result list at that point
A real 7 × 7 grid over one suburb — click any pin to see what somebody standing there would find. First place at the practice door, nowhere by the ring road, and that whole story is invisible in a single ranking number. The map, the grid and the maths are real; the practice, its rivals and their ranks are an invented worked example.
If customers find you on Google Maps, this is for you. If they don’t, that is the problem it measures.
Dentists, plumbers, salons, restaurants, lawyers. See the streets where customers cannot find you, and the specific reason why.
A branded report per client, a citation list you can hand to a junior, and a website scan that writes half the audit for you.
One dashboard per business, the same nine tools on each, and a comparison you can actually defend in a meeting.
No jargon and no course required. An ordered list of what to do next, and a number that tells you whether it worked.
Everything in the subscription
Not nine logins and nine invoices. Pick the one you came for — the rest are already included at every price.
Open the dashboard and the state of your local search is already there: where you rank on average, what moved since the last scan, how far your citations have come, and the one thing worth doing today.

Pick your business, add your keywords, and RankMapp lays a grid over your actual area. Every pin is a real Google Maps search run at that pin's own coordinates, then coloured from green at rank 1 to red past rank 20.
Cost is bounded on purpose. Your top keywords get the full grid; the rest are checked at the business location, because a rank table never needed 49 points to show one number.

The keyword table is fed by the scan itself, not by a number somebody typed in once. Positions, movement and history all come from the same run that drew the map, so the two can never disagree.

Competitors are not a list you type in. They are discovered from your scan: every business that held a pin in your grid, counted, sorted, and put next to you with your own listing at the top.

Reviews are one of the strongest local signals and the easiest to measure. RankMapp compares your count and rating against the rivals holding your pins, then hands you the tactics that close the gap fastest.

Your Google listing and your website have to agree. RankMapp fetches your site for real, checks the things that decide whether Google trusts the pair, scores it out of 100 and puts the failures first.

The country of your map pin decides the list. A business in Thailand does not need the same directories as one in Ireland, and RankMapp does not pretend otherwise.

The assistant reads your scan, your citations and your website score before it answers. It is not a general chatbot bolted onto a dashboard — it has your actual numbers in front of it.

Choose the sections, choose the order, print it. The numbers come from the same scan the dashboard shows, so there is nothing to reconcile in the meeting.

Competitor intelligence
Every rival on this table was found by the scan itself — they are the businesses actually taking pins from you, not a list you had to guess at.

Illustrative figures. In your account every column is read from your own scans.
Beyond the ranking
Knowing you sit seventh does not tell you why. The same scan that draws the grid also collects the three things that move it, so the answer is on the next tab rather than in another subscription.

The country of your map pin picks the list. Each row carries authority, approval rate and effort, a direct submit link, and a status you set once the listing is live.
Your count and rating against every rival found in your grid — plus how many reviews it takes to reach the area average, and to reach first.
Title, headings, schema, speed, mobile, the NAP block. Each check passes, warns or fails, with the fix written next to it.
RankMapp AI
It reads your scans, your competitors and your site audit — then says what to do next, in order. Not generic advice: the reason is attached to every recommendation, and the reason is a number from your own account.
You dropped from #3 to #6 for “dentist near me” across the north-west zone — 8 pins lost, all of them beyond 1.2 km.
Roundhay Dental Studio gained 24 reviews this month against your 7, and now holds 6 of the 8 pins you lost. Your rank inside 600 m is unchanged.
Reporting
The report is built from the scan, not from a spreadsheet somebody kept up by hand. Choose what goes in it, print it to PDF from the browser, and send it.

Drop the tabs a client does not care about and lead with the one they do. The order you choose is the order it prints.
Agency name and accent colour on Pro and Agency, and RankMapp branding off entirely if you want the page to be yours.
Every figure comes from the scan the client can be shown live. Nothing is re-keyed, so there is nothing to reconcile in the meeting.
Against a basic rank checker
Most free rank checkers return one averaged number. It hides the half of your area where you are invisible, which is the half worth knowing about.
| RankMapp | A basic rank checker | |
|---|---|---|
| Data points | 9 to 49 real GPS coordinates per keyword | One averaged result |
| Location bias | Removed — every pin is its own coordinate | Baked in, and personalised to you |
| Competitors | Discovered from who actually holds your pins | Not shown |
| History | Every scan kept, per keyword, dated | Usually none |
| Citations | 1,221 sites filtered to your country, with progress tracking | Not covered |
| Your website | 18 checks, scored and explained | Not covered |
| Next steps | An ordered list, with your own numbers in it | You work it out |
| When it fails | Refuses to save and tells you | Shows a zero and lets you believe it |
If you only check one point, you only ever see one customer's view.
How we measure
Rank data is bought from a provider, and providers have bad days. Most tools hide that. This one does not, because a wrong number is worse than no number.
Each point in the grid is its own Google Maps query at its own coordinates. Nothing is interpolated between pins and nothing is estimated.
If too few points come back, the scan is discarded and you get a warning — never a map of red pins that only means the provider was down.
Outside the top 20 is reported as not found. Inventing a position to make a chart look continuous is a lie that compounds every week.
How it works
Paste a link, pick your keywords, and the grid comes back with a number at every point. The scan on the right is the real one, running.
Paste your Google Maps link. The coordinates come straight out of the URL — no API key, no verification wait.
Pick your keywords and a grid size. Every pin is a real Google Maps search run from that exact coordinate.
The assistant orders what to fix. Re-scan next week and the pins tell you whether it worked.
For agencies and multi-location owners
Every plan carries the whole toolkit. What changes for an agency is how many businesses sit on the account, how many keywords each one gets, and whether the report goes out branded.
Add each business separately and switch between them. Same nine tools on each, same scan schedule, no second subscription per client.
Your agency name and accent colour on the report, and RankMapp branding switched off entirely. The client sees your work, not our logo.
The citation list is ordered, has a submit link on every row and step-by-step instructions per directory. Hand it over and check the status column later.
Eighteen checks on the client's site, each one passed, warned or failed with the fix beside it. The scan does the finding; you do the judgement.
White-label reporting is on Pro and Agency. Every limit above is what the server enforces — the dashboard shows what is left, and the operator can raise it without a new release.
Pricing
All nine tools are on every plan. What changes is the size of the grid, how many keywords and scans you get, and how many AI questions a month.

What to do about it
RankMapp shows you where you stand. These are the habits that turn the red pins green.
Character for character, across your Google profile and every directory. Mismatches are the most common reason a listing stalls.
A slow, constant flow beats forty in one week. Recency counts, and so does replying to every single one.
New images signal an active business. Old ones signal a listing nobody has touched in two years.
Schema, phone, address and mobile speed are free to fix and directly affect whether Google trusts the pairing.
High authority and high approval rate first. Twenty good listings beat two hundred nobody checks.
Businesses that try to rank everywhere rank nowhere. The grid shows where you realistically compete — defend that first.
Questions
If something is not here, ask us — the answer goes on this page for the next person.
No. Rank tracking is one of nine tools in it. The same dashboard also carries keyword history, competitor discovery, the review gap, a 18-point website scan, a country-specific citation library with progress tracking, an AI assistant that reads your own data, and a client report builder. They all run off the same scan, which is why the numbers agree with each other.
It lays a grid of GPS points over your area and runs your keyword from every point, then colours each pin by rank — green where you rank high, red where you are missing. It replaces one misleading average with a map of where you win and where you do not.
Google personalises what you see. Your own phone factors in your exact location, your history and your device, so you can look like number one at your desk and be invisible two streets over. A grid removes that by querying from neutral coordinates across your whole area.
Google weighs the searcher's location heavily, so rank shifts with proximity, review velocity and what your competitors are doing. That is exactly why one number cannot tell you where you stop showing up.
It depends on your plan, and the exact allowance is on the pricing cards above. The limit is enforced by the server, not by hiding a button, and the dashboard always shows how many you have left this week.
3 × 3 on the trial, 5 × 5 on Starter, and 7 × 7 on Pro and Agency — so 9, 25 or 49 real points per keyword. Your top keywords get the full grid and the rest are checked at your business location, which is what keeps the price where it is.
No. The data connection is ours and it is included in the subscription. You will never be asked to open an account with a data provider or top up credits — that is the whole point of paying monthly.
The scan is thrown away and you get a warning. Saving a half-finished scan would show you a map of red pins that means nothing, and you would act on it. We would rather show you nothing than something wrong.
A library of 1,221 directory and citation sites covering 61 countries. The country of your map pin picks the list, so you see the sites that matter where you actually trade, each with its submit link and its steps.
Yes. Paste the live listing URL into the row and RankMapp checks it — live turns the row green and counts toward your citation strength, failed keeps a note so nobody wastes an afternoon repeating it.
18 things, on a real fetch of your page: LocalBusiness schema, phone, address, map embed, business name, HTTPS, response time, page weight, mobile viewport, canonical, title, meta description, H1 count, image alt text, Open Graph, robots.txt and sitemap.xml among them. Each comes back with the value found and what to do about it.
It reads your own scan, citations and website score before answering, so the plan it gives you has your figures in it. It is included in every plan — 1 question on the trial, 3 on Starter, 5 on Pro, 10 a month on Agency.
You choose which sections appear and in what order, then print or save to PDF. On Pro and Agency you can put your own agency name and accent colour on it and hide RankMapp branding entirely.
Three things: your business name, your Google Maps link (for the coordinates), and at least one keyword. Your website URL is optional but unlocks the 18-point scan. Everything else fills itself in from the first scan.
14 days, no card. One location, three keywords, a 3 × 3 grid on your main keyword, the top 15 citations for your country, the full website scan, and one AI question. Enough to see your real map on your real business before you decide.
RankMapp is a small, independently run product. There is no sales floor and no call-back form: support goes to one mailbox, read by the people who build it.
It exists because checking a local ranking properly meant paying for several subscriptions to answer one question — where, street by street, customers can actually find you. RankMapp measures that at dozens of real points around your business, and shows the competitors, reviews, citations and website faults behind the answer.
We do not sell or share your data, and we do not need access to your Google account — a public Maps link is enough to get started.
Stop guessing. Start measuring. Fourteen days free, no card, on your own business — and if the data ever fails, we tell you instead of showing you a number we made up.
